Board 2025-2026 Budget Workshop #2

Information on Florida Special District Budget Workshops:

  • What they are: Special district budget workshops are meetings held by the governing bodies of Florida special districts to discuss and prepare their annual budgets.
  • Purpose: These workshops provide an opportunity for district staff to present their proposed budgets and for the governing board to review, discuss, and refine the spending plan before it is formally adopted. They also provide an opportunity for public input and engagement.
  • Public Access: Florida law requires all meetings of special district governing bodies, including budget workshops, to be open to the public.
  • Notices: Notices of budget workshops that are open to the public and not governed by s. 200.065 must be advertised in a newspaper of general paid circulation in the area where the workshop will take place, not less than 5 days nor more than 15 days before the workshop.
  • Accessibility: Some locations offer special accommodations for individuals with disabilities who wish to attend the workshops.  Call the District for any special accommodation requests.
